did the tape surface?

No, not yet.

thanks for making this timeline. a bunch of my cassettes are unlabeled and this timeline has been really really helpful in me trying to figure out exactly when these shows were recorded.

here's the aug 20 1997 show that featured organized konfusion, lord finesse, the x-ecutioners, and a trak

Thanks, that show is actually July 10th, 1997.

Still going along nicely, TBS. If anyone out there has Volume 8 of the Freestyle series, please come through with that. We have all the other volumes if you need them.

ANY FORMER LISTENERS WHO HAPPEN ACROSS THIS BLOG:
IF YOU HAVE TAPES AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP COMPLETE THIS BUT DON'T HAVE THE MEANS OR TIME TO DIGITIZE THEM, WE WILL SET THAT UP AND HANDLE THAT FOR YOU. YOU WILL GET YOUR TAPES BACK ASAP.
THANKS.

The Big Sleep said...

Thanks man.

Yeah, thanks for mentioning that. I'll be making that point on a future T.R.O.Y. Blog article as well. DJ Stretch Armstrong himself has offered to digitize tapes for people, as has Nes from Dirty Waters and aleph on the T.R.O.Y. forum. So there's multiple possible options here.

I think it was BIGSLEEP that suggested goin through external hard-drives, shoe-boxes and lookin down the back of the sofa for good places to find S&B treats. In the scheme of things, personally, that was a major nod in the right direction

As well as dustin off the actual ferric and chromes, the secret to uncovering old shows was using keywords to search through my ex-HD's - terms like like Skinny Bones, Cucumber Slice, Stretch, Barber, Armstrong, Bobbito, 89TEC9, WKCR, 89.9FM et cet

Hopefully some simple searches will bolster the booty of Bobb and Bones, and we'll have a few more to enjoy

Word up man, solid advice.

The Big Sleep said...

This site has now been immortalized by DJ Stretch Armstrong on the last ever Stretch and Bob show on WKCR, 89.9 FM in Nueva York.

Today is the day, twenty years exactly.

y0! Mad nice blog! Is there any chance to hear this show >>> Thursday, February 14th, 1991 (Nasty NaS, Akinyele, Lord Finesse) first God's Son appearance...and maybe previous shows as well!
Big up Man from Russia!
Nice job!

The Big Sleep said...

Sadly all we have from that show is the date so far, shows from ninety through ninety two are especially difficult to come by since so few people were taping back then. Hopefully that one surfaces in the not so distant future.

A BaD MaThaFaKa! said...

Any way thank u man! Appreciate your job.
PEACE!

The Big Sleep said...

No doubt, apparently Stretch and Bob don't even have a copy of that one so we're waitin' for some early listener that was smart enough to tape it, which could be a while I'm sorry to say. Peace man.

word Sleep I like how you changed it up. Just need to get some of the links up. If you need help with this lemme know.

The Big Sleep said...

Yeah, it's an ongoing process but we're on the right path. Thanks man.
